Grants and Disbursements
For the Foundation to help strengthen the future of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, your gifts presented to the Foundation are added to a pool of gifts and invested. Earnings are distributed in accordance of the Foundation guidelines to allow your gifts to continue to grow so future generations of the St. Mark's faith community are able to bring Jesus' love to the local community. At the annual meeting, the Board of Trustees determines the current year's amount of available funds for distribution to fulfill approved grant request applications. For a grant request application to be accepted for formal review by the Foundation, the grant request must meet the following criteria:
- Shall be for projects consistent with the mission, purpose, and priorities of St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
- Shall be projects whose funding is NOT possible within St. Mark's normal operating budget.
- Shall directly involve members of St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
- Shall be given preferentially to projects of established committees and organizations, or special task forces serving St. Mark's Lutheran Church.
- Shall be awarded generally in the $100 to $1,000 range.
- Shall ensure that the funding will not be used for political lobbying purposes or in manners that discriminate on the basis of race, religion, gender, age, and national origin.
If you have an idea for a project that meets the criteria above and would like to propose it to the Foundation for funding, please complete the request form and clearly describe the purpose and expected outcomes of your project.
