Margaret Schultz, a young adult from the St. Mark’s Church congregation, attended a synod-sponsored conference in Atlanta “Conversations about Race, Privilege and Justice.” This was an exciting and eye-opening adventure for Margaret as she met and connected with other young adults about topics concerning them and the world they live in.
More than 90 people of all ages attended a screening of the documentary “Screenagers: Growing Up in a Digital Age” at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in April. “Parents were thankful for the vast information and the resourcing, while kids were struck by the ways technology is impacting them. It was an incredibly worthwhile event and spoke to the church’s desire to meet the relevant needs of our people,” commented Pastor Ivy Huston following the presentation. The St. Mark’s Foundation helped fund the screening so everyone who was interested could attend this free event. In case you weren’t able to attend the presentation, information about it can be found at www.screenagersmovie.com.
The St. Mark’s Foundation, on behalf of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, is pleased to partner with five other local churches to provide “Worship on the Farm” this summer. Each Wednesday evening, beginning at 5:30, folks may gather at Bruentrop Barn in Maplewood to share some food and fellowship followed by an ecumenical church service. Everyone is welcome!
