On March 25, 2018 the St. Mark’s youth will be sponsoring a pancake breakfast after the 8:45 am and 10:15 am services to defray the expenses for a youth mission trip in the summer of 2018 to share their talents and Christ’s love with families in Chavies, Ky. St. Mark’s Foundation will be matching funds raised at the pancake breakfast. Please be generous.
The St. Mark’s Foundation will again be sponsoring “Foundation Week”, the week of April 15 2018, during the services when a short temple talk will provide an update to the Foundation's on going mission.
The Foundation board members will be available before and after church services to provide an opportunity for St. Mark’s congregation to ask about the works of The Foundation with St. Mark's church. After the services, there will be a display in Rees Hall where Foundation board members will be available to chat with you and answer any questions you may have about the Foundation and its mission.
We hope to see you there.
Carrying God’s word forward both at St. Mark’s and into the community.

Last fall, a small informal group gathered to learn more about the Foundation and how they can help spread the message of the Foundation. The Friends support the Foundation by conveying the Foundation’s purpose and mission with others, encouraging other church members to participate, exploring appropriate opportunities for disbursements and making contributions as they are able. Anyone can join the Friends! If you wish to be added to the mailing list for Friends information, please contact one of the board of trustee members or email the Foundation at firstname.lastname@example.org. There is also a “contact us” link on the website.

Workshops will continue to be held with the next one scheduled for fall 2017.
Polar Back Packs 2016
The Polar Back Pack program was the recipient of several grants from the Foundation – at Easter and at Thanksgiving. The Foundation's grant gave money towards food gift cards for the people receiving the back packs.
A heartfelt thank you was given to Lindsey Bina, Intern Pastor, who delivered the gift cards. She was welcomed at North High and offered sincere thanks for the partnership between St. Mark's and the school. She was told “the Polar Packs are making a huge difference in the lives of their students.” Everyone she met at school offered similar words of gratitude.
The grants are available thanks to the generosity of those who contribute to the Foundation. We thank everyone who has helped us provide help to this much-needed program.
Support for seminary student
The Foundation continued its support of seminary students in 2017 with a grant for a daughter of our congregation – Jenn Luong.
Jenn's response, “Your financial support is critical, but your investment and support of my ministry is priceless.”
The Foundation feels it is important to support the future of the church by investing in the young people who are striving to keep the faith growing.
Fellowship Hall was humming with music and conversation on Sunday, September 18, for the Friends of the Foundation Kickoff Luncheon. More than 40 people filled the room as guests, board of trustee members, speakers and food servers enjoyed a delicious meal, a fun church trivia game, information about foundations, and fellowship. The Friends of the Foundation is an informal group that will help and support the Foundation's board of trustees in visioning for the future; share ideas for growth; enjoy fellowship with others who wish to see St. Mark's Church continue to succeed and thrive; and spread the word about the Foundation and its mission.
Polar Back Pack Program
The Foundation has continued its policy of giving grant money for the Polar Back Pack program. In November 2015, the Foundation gave $675 for food gift cards so the recipients of the back packs would be able to purchase fresh produce and meat for Thanksgiving. For Easter, the Foundation gave $500 for the back pack program to purchase food gift cards. These donations help the families in the program enjoy a Thanksgiving and Easter meal together.
