In accordance with IRS guidelines, each year the St. Mark’s Foundation has to file for its non-profit status. The Foundation continues to be a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization dedicated to conveying the Christian message to people through excellence in worship, education and the building of relationships within St. Mark’s Church, the local community and global missions.

St. Mark’s Foundation continues to promote enduring opportunities for connecting present and future generations by being a place for receipt of gifts and financial bequests; for prudent long-term management of financial assets; and for thoughtful distribution of principal and earned income in manners consistent with the purpose and mission of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Young Adult trip to Atlanta

5/22/2019

Margaret Schultz, a young adult from the St. Mark’s Church congregation, attended a synod-sponsored conference in Atlanta “Conversations about Race, Privilege and Justice.” This was an exciting and eye-opening adventure for Margaret as she met and connected with other young adults about topics concerning them and the world they live in.

“Screenagers: Growing Up in a Digital Age”

5/22/2019

More than 90 people of all ages attended a screening of the documentary “Screenagers: Growing Up in a Digital Age” at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in April. “Parents were thankful for the vast information and the resourcing, while kids were struck by the ways technology is impacting them. It was an incredibly worthwhile event and spoke to the church’s desire to meet the relevant needs of our people,” commented Pastor Ivy Huston following the presentation. The St. Mark’s Foundation helped fund the screening so everyone who was interested could attend this free event. In case you weren’t able to attend the presentation, information about it can be found at www.screenagersmovie.com.

Chavies, Ky. Youth Mission Trip Update

9/24/2018

The St. Mark's Foundation grants were very instrumental in supporting our Senior High Youth Mission Trip to Eastern Kentucky. This trip was a life-changing experience for not only the youth and adult leaders, but the families that we worked with. We were able to not only provide them with a more stable building to live in, but provide the families with much needed food gift cards and gifts on behalf of St. Mark's and the Foundation. The trip left us exhausted, sore and drained, but filled with the grace of God that we were able to be His hands in this world. The impact to all of us would not have been possible without the support of the St. Mark's Foundation and the people of St. Mark's.
